FESTIVAL OF TREES   -

Cambria Rotary Club is hosting the annual Festival of Trees event being held at Cambria Pines Lodge.The ticket price of $50 per person, includes a fabulous buffet dinner, complimentary champagne, and musical entertainment. Bid in a lively auction of unique live trees, fabulous fakes, wreaths and other artistic creations. All proceeds benefit local non-profit organizations. PIEDRAS BLANCAS LIGHTHOUSE TOURS - 9:45
From SEPT. 1-JUNE14th tours are offered Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday. From June 15 - August 31st. tours are offered Monday through Saturday. No reservations needed for groups less than 10 people. No tours offered on federal holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, etc.) $10 adults, $5 ages 6-17, no fee for ages 5 and under. Tours last about 2 hours and include a 1/2 mile of easy walking. Visitors meet at 9:45 a.m. at the former Piedras Blancas Motel located 1.5 miles north of the light station on Highway 1. Do not wait at the gate to the light station! Wheelchairs and strollers are available upon request. No pets. Tours may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Professional artist Erin Lee Gafill from Big Sur will be our next “Art Talk” presenter. Gafill’s abstract, still-life, and plain air paintings are collected internationally. Walk the Forest Loop Trail of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve with a docent. Enjoy our Monterey Pine forest as we learn about the plants, animals, human history and the trails in this special part of Cambria. The walk is about 2.5 miles long with very little elevation gain. Bring water, shoes that protect the toes, and wear long pants to help protect from poison oak. Children welcome with adult supervision.
